IBPS PO Prelims Exam Pattern:

  • IBPS PO Prelims Exam consists of 100 questions
  • Questions will be given in the form of multiple-choice questions.
  • Online examination will be conducted for IBPS PO
  • Candidates will be provided 1 hour to complete the exam
  • The paper includes 3 sections that are Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability, and English Language.
  • The question paper will be in both English and Hindi medium.

  • 200 objective-type questions will be asked in the Mains exam.
  • The examination will be conducted in online mode only.
  • The total duration to complete the exam will be 2 hours.
  • Mains exam is divided into 5 sections that are Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability, English Language, General Awareness, and Computer Knowledge.
  • The paper will be in both English and Hindi Language.

FAQ

What are the subjects in IBPS PO?

This part of the exam mainly consists of 4 subjects – Reasoning and computer aptitude, English language, Data analysis and interpretation, and General economy and banking awareness. The marks distribution is as follows: Reasoning and computer aptitude – 60 marks. English language – 40 marks.

Is there any negative marking for the IBPS PO examination?

Yes, there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer. Hence, if you get wrong answers to 4 questions, you will lose 1 mark.

What is the cut-off score for the IBPS PO exam?

There is no fixed cut-off score for the IBPS PO exam. The cut-off score changes on the basis of the overall performance of all the candidates who have applied for the exam during the said session. However, to be on the safer side, it is recommended that a candidate should attempt at least 50% to 60% of all the questions in each section to hit the overall cut-off marks as well as the sectional cut-off marks.

What all languages can I opt for when I write the IBPS PO examination?

The IBPS PO examination is bilingual. You can choose between English and Hindi for your question paper. However, the English Language papers will be available in English only.
