High Court Allahabad – Assistant Review Officer (ARO) Exam Syllabus

Scheme of the Examination for Assistant Review Officer (ARO)
The Examination will be a Written Objective Type OMR Sheet (offline).
There will be two stages of examination
Objective Type OMR Sheet & Computer Knowledge Test
There shall be no negative marking in the objective type test.

Stage-II (Computer Knowledge Test)
Computer Knowledge Test that is Data Entry, Word Processing, and Computer Operation. Candidates shall be provided a text in English of approximately 500 words which they shall be required to reproduce on the computer in the same format within 15 minutes for adjudging the performance of the candidate on the computer
Eligibility Criteria
Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Educational Institution established by law in India or recognized qualification equivalent and Diploma/ Degree in Computer Science from a recognized institution / University, or ‘O’ Level Certificate awarded by DOEACC Society, or CCC Certificate in Computer Science from a recognized institute.

MARKING SCHEME of Samiksha Adhikari

Stage-I Part A – Multiple Choice Objective Type Test

  • (i) To answer a Multiple Choice Question, the candidate needs to choose one option corresponding to the correct answer or the ‘most appropriate answer’.
  • (ii) Each correct answer shall carry One (01) Mark.
  • (iii) There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.
  • (iv) No marks will be given for questions un-answered/un-attempted/marked for review.
  • (v) If a question is found to be incorrect or ambiguous or has more than one answer during the Key Challenge, only those candidates who have attempted the question and chosen one of the correct answers shall be given the mark.
  • (vi) In case a Question is dropped due to some technical mistake (error) or any other reason, full a mark shall be given to all the candidates.

Stage-I Part B – Computer Knowledge Test

  • (i) Marks to be deducted on each mistake (error) [Value of mistake (error): 01 Mistake (Error) = 0.1 marks]
  • (ii) Left-out words and spelling mistakes (errors) will be treated as full mistakes (errors).
  • (iii) Typing of Letters, Words, Characters, Symbols, or anything other than the contents of passage as asked in question paper shall be treated as a full mistake (error).
  • (iv) Words typed beyond the prescribed word limit shall be deleted/ignored.
  • (v) The evaluated copy must indicate o No. of mistakes (errors) made by the candidate o Total Marks awarded
  • (vi) Marks to be deducted on each mistake (error) (Value of mistake (error): 01 Mistake (error)=0.1 mark).

Duration – 03 hours (180 minutes)

an Acts or Rules (20 marks)

Explanation of Common expressions, cliches, etc. which might be
met with in either of the above legal terms and maxims (20 marks)

Part-2: Translation from Hindi to English

Translation from Hindi to English of an extract from a judgment,
pleadings, evidence, and Government Resolutions (60 marks)

Translation from Hindi to English of a section or some sections of
an Acts or Rules (20 marks)

Explanation of Common expressions, cliches, etc. which might be
met within either of the above legal terms and maxims (20 marks)

Allahabad High Court Review Officer Samiksha Adhikari Important Points

  1. The Part-A and Part-B of Stage-I Examination for the post of Review Officer (Hindi) and Review Officer (Urdu) of every single Candidate, shall be conducted simultaneously in a SINGLE SHIFT with a GAP OF 15 MINUTES.
  2. The merit list shall be prepared on the basis of aggregate marks obtained in the Stage-I and Stage-II Examination.
  3. For the post of Review Officer (Hindi) and Review Officer (Urdu), no Interview shall be held for selection.
  4. The question paper for Stage-I (Part-A) Examination for both the posts i.e. Review Officer (Hindi) and Review Officer (Urdu) will be available in both English and Hindi languages.
  5. Candidates have to apply “ONLINE” only for the High Court of Judicature at Allahabad Recruitment Exam for the post of Review Officer (Hindi) or Review Officer (Urdu) or both, by accessing the website: https://recruitment.nta.nic.in OR www.allahabadhighcourt.in
